Who Am I?

Hellooooooo!

(I hope you read that in a Kristin-doing-a-Jerry-Seinfeld-impression voice.)

I’m Kristin and I’m happy to have you here!

I promise this gets good…I’m an Upstate New York transplant based in Fort Worth, Texas and am the founder and owner of Kristin White Coaching, now an online strength training service.

I am a personal trainer, strength coach, and nutrition coach and have worked with a wide variety of clients since 2013.

Are you yawning?

How boring is this intro?

Ok, wanna know why I got into this field?

Full transparency: I did it for me.

WHY I GOT INTO PERSONAL TRAINING

I know, the noble thing would’ve been to say I did it to help others.

But actually, I literally was so much of a perfectionist that after trying for years to figure out from articles and blogs and DVD workouts what the “right way” to exercise and nutrition is (yes, I like to make nutrition a verb as in, “Do you even nutrition, bro?”), I finally threw up my hands and said, “Fine, I’ll do it myself!”

I researched the most reputable organizations to get certified through, chose ACSM, and proceeded to read their personal trainer textbook.

Cover. To. Cover.

I told you. I was a perfectionist.

Passed the exam in November 2013 and was like, holy crap I can train people now?! I didn’t even have my own workout shit figured out yet AND had MINIMAL in-person experience!!

Well, fast forward almost TEN years and here we are.

I’m no longer as perfectionist as I was, I’ve mastered exercise and nutrition in a way that works for me, and most importantly…

MY LIFE DOESN’T REVOLVE AROUND EXERCISE AND NUTRITION!

My life is so much more than squats and broccoli.

And that’s ultimately what I want for other people.

So this is where the helping other people part comes in.

WHY I ACTUALLY WANTED TO HELP PEOPLE

Once I started to experience the revelation that I can live MY BEST LIFE without being hyper-focused on and obsessed with all things fitness, I was like… wait, there have to be other people out there like my former self who are caught up in the details and thinking of all the “shoulds” and trying to figure out the “perfect plan” and waiting for the “perfect time” and MISSING OUT ON THEIR LIVES AS A RESULT.

THOSE folks. I want to help them.

Because I WAS them.

There’s a message being put out that to be fit, you almost must make fitness and nutrition an obsession. Everything has to be dialed in and workouts should be the highlight of your day.

Listen, there are people who are truly passionate about all things fitness, nutrition, gyms, etc.

And I love that for them.

But that’s not me.

I’ve actually tried it on, and it’s just never fit.

What I HAVE had a passion for is living a life of vibrancy and joy and good health.

And I truly believe that to do that, our bodies must MOVE.

Humans are made to MOVE.

All humans.

And guess what? Movement is a SKILL. And I LOVE to help people improve their movement skills.

And that involves getting stronger.

Yep, this is where strength training becomes important.

WHY I COACH STRENGTH TRAINING

I don’t coach strength training because it’s something we “should” be doing.

I coach strength training because it’s something we CAN be doing that is a relatively low cost investment that pays DIVIDENDS.

It enhances the IMPORTANT things in our lives.

It improves our movement skills, which improves not only our physical health (body composition, hormone profile, immune system, libido, yes libido) but our emotional, mental, and social health as well!

Think mood, relationships, hobbies, self-confidence, and more!

I have now trained hundreds of clients from all walks of life with all different goals.

Strength training was far and away the thing that had people FEELING GOOD. (I don’t wanna hear it about the grammar.) Not every single person LOVED it and not every single person showed up excited for every workout, but just about every single person was so glad they did it AND they noticed the effects outside their workouts.

Coach Kristin tries talking to her dog, Rey.

If I had a penny for every time someone told me one of the following:

“I played with my kids on the playground!”
“My cholesterol numbers are down!”
“I feel more energetic!”
“I tried out rock climbing with my kids!”
“I moved houses and had the stamina to do so!”
“I’m walking farther distances without my cane!”
“I walked all three of my dogs no problem!”
“I had more stamina doing yard work than my 20-something year old son.”
Etc.

Well… I’d have a few dollars because simple math says a penny from a few hundred clients equals a few dollars. Although, many clients said these things multiple times, so I guess maybe like $8-$10.

Yea, I’d have $8-$10.

But I digress.

You’re wondering if I can help you.

WHO I WORK WITH *NOW*

Now, I’m focused on helping the “perfectionists.”

The former versions of me.

The folks with the all-or-nothing mindset who think they’ve gotta be working out 5 days per week to get results. And if their current circumstances don’t allow for that, they throw up their hands and say, “What’s the point in doing anything?!”

Does it sound like you?

My friend, I feel you.

And I’d love to help you.

I LOOOOVE helping perfectionists out of that wheels-spinning, action-delaying, self-defeating mode and into ACTION-TAKING mode so that they’re FINALLY incorporating strength training into their routine seamlessly, getting results, and all without having to make their lives revolve around fitness.

Are you still here? So happy and grateful you are.
